Surrounding Area
The area surrounding Marchesi provides an array of activities for couples and families alike to enjoy. Some of our favourites are detailed below although further information can be found on the 'Visit Norfolk' website (http://www.visitnorfolk.co.uk/)

Boat tours of the Broads depart from Wroxham, such as 'The Belle of the Broads' (pictured at top of page). Day boats can be hired from the same location which are perfect for taking out a picnic or stopping off at the various pubs as you explore the Broads' waterways.

Guests are able to fish right on the doorstep of Marchesi either on the river at the rear or in the calmer waters of boat basin at the front. The waters offer excellent coarse (roach, bream, rudd, perch, eel) and pike fishing.

There is a wide variety of restaurants & take aways in Wroxham including 'Wherrymans' (pictured and adjacent to Wroxham bridge) which makes lovely pizzas. Also, the 'Bridge Tea Rooms' just over the Wroxham Bridge from Marchesi is great for full English breakfast and cream teas.

Wroxham Barns is a great day out for families with craft shops, junior farm (kids can feed and pet the animals), funfair, mini golf and an indoor play area for smaller children.

BeWilderwood is a large adventure playground created within the local woodlands filled with epic tree-high mazes, rope bridges, slides and zipwires. With face painting, crafts and interactive storytelling and wooden shacks, its a great day out for kids. Bike hire is also available from BeWilderwood.

Experience a nostalgic trip by steam on Norfolk’s longest narrow gauge railway which runs between Wroxham and the historic market town of Aylsham. Along the line are the villages of Brampton, Buxton and Coltishall where you can hop off and explore by foot. The single journey between Aylsham and Wroxham takes 45 minutes.

Blicking Hall is a beautiful and historic stately home surrounded by superb grounds and gardens. The house is the former home of Anne Boleyn, one of Henry VIII's wives. Look out for themed events, particularly at Christmas time.

If you are partial to a tipple of real ale, the Woodsfords Brewery in Woodbastwick (about 5 minute drive from Marchesi) is a must. Tours of the brewery are popular although prior booking is necessary. The adjoining 'Fur and Feather Inn' supplies an array of Woodfords' ales and offers good pub food.

Cromer is a quaint seaside town famous for its shellfish, particularly 'Cromer dressed crab'. It has sandy beaches, pier, theatre, cinema and independent shops.
